What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Facilities Manager position at Hudson Valley Textile Project?
General Facilities Manager at the Hudson Valley Textile Project facility in Mechanicville, NY, will provide oversight of the 2 primary activities at that location: the Clean Fleece Scouring operation, and the NEFX Fiber Exchange. Primary duties will include:
- Customer relations with regard to Clean Fleece and related administrative work tracking/work orders
- Coordinating collaborations between Clean Fleece Scouring and the NEFX Fiber Exchange wool aggregation work (managing/tracking NEFX wool as it moves into Clean Fleece scouring and carding processes)
- Overseeing equipment throughout the facility for maintenance and repair with good relationships with on call repair machinists
- Supervising employees of both Clean Fleece and NEFX, and managing employee efficiency in work flow and scheduling
Successful candidate will demonstrate experience in:
- Manufacturing or production work flow.
- Purchasing or supervising inputs.
- Fiber or Textile experience is desireable.
Estimate of 20 hours weekly on site (this is a completely on-site position)
- 2-3 hours weekly meeting with employees to create weekly game plan, setting shift goals to insure efficiency, and including overview of equipment condition and upcoming requirements.
- 8-10 hours weekly trouble shooting at Clean Fleece and NEFX, facilitating operations, updating customer records/orders, coordinating activities across the facility
- 3-4 hours weekly in production line work, tracking efficient work flow, analyzing this data, providing guidelines for improvement, and written reports of activities to the HVTP Executive Committee.
