Duties

  • Design and develop curriculum for low voltage systems courses, integrating industry standards and best practices
  • Deliver engaging classroom instruction using various educational technologies, including online platforms and interactive simulations
  • Provide hands-on training in areas such as electrical wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, automotive diagnostics, welding, plumbing, and aircraft maintenance
  • Assess student progress through evaluations, practical demonstrations, and project work; provide constructive feedback to support growth
  • Incorporate safety standards such as OSHA regulations into all instructional activities to promote a safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and facilitate real-world learning opportunities
  • Support diverse student populations by adapting teaching methods to accommodate different cultural backgrounds and learning styles

Experience

  • Proven experience working with post-secondary students or adult learners in technical or vocational education settings
  • Strong background in low voltage systems including electrical wiring, HVAC/R, automotive repair, plumbing, or aircraft maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial automation, and maintenance repair operations (MRO)
  • Familiarity with educational technologies such as Blackboard or other online instruction platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to develop course content that aligns with industry standards and certifications
  • Classroom training experience with a focus on technical skills instruction across diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of safety protocols including OSHA standards relevant to manufacturing, construction, HVAC/R, automotive service, or electrical work
