Position Summary
The Mammography Tech performs mammograms on patients as prescribed by physicians and per hospital policy and procedures.
Specific Job Duties
- Demonstrates competencies in all Mammogram positioning/procedures per departmental protocol including 3D reconstruction, biopsies.
- Equipment operation, equipment cleanliness/disinfection, Quality Control Tests.
- Practices proper radiation protection.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be fluent in the English language. Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Associates degree in applied science.
- Current NJ state license
- Prior experience in mammogram procedures.
- Meets requirements for registry in ARRT; RT (M) advanced certification
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
