What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Associate position at Hudson Institute?

Hudson Institute seeks a project associate to support Hudson Institute’s research agenda and growth by assisting with proposals, programmatic and financial management, and institutional fundraising efforts . This individual will also be expected to help manage collaborative efforts across Hudson’s policy centers and internal departments to help carry out effective outreach initiatives, disseminating research and building Hudson’s reputation with stakeholders. All aspects of this job demand an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing simultaneous and competing demands for time and attention. This is a full-time position based in Hudson Institute’s Washington, DC office reporting to the director of projects and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research to build background information on potential foundation and corporate supporters of Hudson.
  • Aids in proposal development through comment, editing, and restructuring draft proposals, as well as preparation of all other relevant information for potential supporters.
  • Assists in producing targeted newsletters and other promotional products for stakeholders and potential supporters. 
  • Coordinates with Hudson colleagues about program deliverables and helps oversee aspects of grants and contracts implementation.
  • Stays abreast of policy developments, opportunities for Hudson to impact policy debates, and opportunities for Hudson to strengthen or expand its core research areas.
  •  Conducts research on policy proposals and other matters, as needed.

  • Commitment to Hudson Institute’s mission and supporting the work of the Institute’s scholars and staff.
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Superior writing, verbal, and editing skills.
  • General knowledge of the policy-making environment and experience in crafting policy-oriented correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and simultaneous tasks and assignments. 
  • Highly organized and excellent time and project management skills.
  • Technologically savvy.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with others.
  • Commitment to acting with integrity and the utmost professionalism.
