Core Responsibilities
- Athletic Instruction & Strategy:
- Plan and lead daily practice sessions focused on skill development and physical conditioning.
- Develop game strategies, playbooks, and lineups tailored to the team's strengths.
- Direct and motivate athletes during competitions, making real-time tactical adjustments.
- Student Mentorship & Safety:
- Monitor the academic performance of athletes to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
- Enforce a firm but productive discipline framework and the school's code of conduct.
- Provide constant supervision at practices, games, and during team travel.
- Administer first aid or CPR in the event of an injury and follow established safety protocols.
- Administrative & Logistics:
- Manage team rosters, equipment inventory, and uniform distribution/collection.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Director on game scheduling, transportation, and budgeting.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and school staff.
Job Qualifications
- Certifications:
- Valid NYS coaching certification
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification.
- Completion of concussion awareness training.
- Experience: Previous coaching or competitive playing experience in the specific sport is typically required.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
