What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Design Coordinator position at Hudson & Crane?
JOB TITLE:
Interior Design Coordinator
INTRODUCTION:
Hi designers! We're Hudson & Crane, a boutique interior design studio in the heart of Dupont Circle, DC, and we're looking for an Interior Design Coordinator to join our small but mighty team. If you've got experience in the design/furnishings industry and a passion for project management, we want to hear from you!
ABOUT US:
We’ve served clients in Washington, D.C., New York, and beyond for many years, and we bring a variety of backgrounds and interests to the table, which shows itself in our work. Our philosophy is simple: good interior design should be accessible to everyone in every home, whether it's a historic Row House in Capitol Hill, a Penthouse at the Wharf, or a single-family home in Bethesda. We take our work seriously, BUT never forget to make it fun!
For our clients, we take the stress out of making all the selections and make sure that the journey is as enjoyable as the destination.
We're looking for driven professionals who share our passion so we can reach even greater heights together.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
As our new Design Coordinator, you'll be the right-hand person to our Principal Designer, helping to manage client projects and keep everything running smoothly. This includes sourcing materials, prepping client presentations, taking notes, tracking progress, and managing details, both big and small. In this role, you'll learn the ins and outs of running a design business from top to bottom. For the right candidate, this means potentially working towards becoming an equity partner in the future!
YOU MIGHT BE THE RIGHT FIT IF YOU:
- Are familiar with the Interior design industry with some experience under their belt
- Have project management experience with a passion for design
- Are super organized go-getter who can juggle multiple tasks consistently
- Are a good listener and clear communicator, both in writing and chatting with clients
- Have an excellent eye for detail and design aesthetics
- Are a team player who can also fly solo when needed
- Are someone with a stakeholder mentality – treating your work and the business like an owner
ABOUT YOU:
You eat, sleep, and breathe interior design. You're not afraid to speak up, share ideas, or have those tricky conversations with clients. You're detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day is different. Plus, you're excited about learning the business side of things, and bringing your own wealth of experience to the table.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
What You'll Be Juggling as Our Design Coordinator:
- Sourcing and preparing materials for client presentations
- Keeping our clients in the loop with important details and updates on their projects
- Keeping organized with the design process - from concept to final pillow fluff
- Managing the client lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
- Ready to jump in wherever needed
In short, you'll be the glue holding our creative chaos together! We're looking for someone who can wear many hats and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done. If you're nodding along, thinking, "Yep, that's me!" then we can't wait to meet you!
PERKS PAY:
We offer a competitive salary based on your experience, plus opportunities to level up your skills and grow with us. Flexible work/life balance, and a work hard/play hard mentality.
