BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The Job Coach is responsible for providing in person direct services to disabled adults to assist them with on-the-job training and provides job coaching to assist with job retention. Markets programs and services to employers and actively seeks partnerships to increase community placements for the employment program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides individualized job coaching and job retention support to consumers.
  • Assists clients with career exploration, resume development, job applications, and interview preparation.
  • Offers education and guidance to employers on how to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ensures reasonable accommodations are communicated and implemented as needed.
  • Delivers both on-the-job and off-site coaching based on client needs.
  • Maintains an active caseload of Job Coaching, Pre-placement, and Long-Term Follow-Along (LTFA) consumers.
  • Acts as a liaison between clients and employers to promote job success and resolve workplace concerns.
  • Attends a minimum of 12 hours of job-related training annually.
  • Supports outreach efforts in collaboration with the Manager to build and maintain employer relationships.
  • Maintains accurate case notes and documentation in SETWorks or other agency systems.
  • Maintains communication and collaboration with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) and/or Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI).
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent local travel is required throughout the community and to employer worksites.
  • May work irregular hours depending on client work schedules (e.g., early mornings, evenings).
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including retail, food service, and office settings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • · A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Sociology, or Business Administration or 1-year of experience related to fields is highly desirable
  • · Associate of Arts degree or 2 years of documented experience related to the field
  • · A High School Diploma or 3 years of documented experience working in a related field will be accepted in place of a BA
  • · Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
  • · Driver’s license is required (You will be required to use your own vehicle)
  • · Experience working with the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Visually Impaired populations (if applicable)
  • · Fluent in American Sign Language and knowledgeable of hearing loss, communication uses, culture, and accommodations in the workplace, required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
