Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to the developmental stages of preschool and toddler-aged children, incorporating literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and creative play.
  • Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and social interaction among children.
  • Manage daily classroom activities with effective behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and emotional regulation.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of child development to tailor instruction and support early intervention when needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or digital updates.
  • Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation related to child welfare and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that integrate childhood development principles and standardized testing when applicable.
  • Maintain current certifications such as First Aid and CPR to ensure a safe environment for all children.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education practices, child development instruction, and classroom management techniques.
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education strategies.
  • Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in childhood development or preschool teaching are preferred.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team environment while demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching physical education and fostering overall child welfare.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
