JOB SUMMARY
The School Athletic Director is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating all school-sponsored athletic programs. This role oversees the scheduling of sporting events and team activities, ensuring all athletic operations run efficiently, safely, and in accordance with school, district, and state guidelines.
Key responsibilities include supervising athletic events, coordinating and assigning game officials, managing the athletic budget, ordering uniforms and equipment, and preparing fields and courts for competitions. The Athletic Director assists with the hiring and onboarding of school sports coaches, ensures all coaching staff maintain required certifications, and verifies athlete eligibility through the approval of athletic clearances and ongoing monitoring of student academic performance.
The position collaborates closely with the school administration team to coordinate outside events, secure and schedule athletic facilities, and communicate effectively with parents, athletes, staff, and community partners. Additional duties include attending district athletic meetings, adhering to FHSAA regulations, organizing fundraising initiatives, maintaining athletic storage areas, coordinating with plant operations staff for event support, and working with coaches to develop camps, clinics, and community engagement events.
This role also performs other duties as assigned by school administration and plays an essential part in promoting a positive, organized, and successful athletic environment for students and staff.

***This position may require you to teach an additional period beyond your base contract. Should this occur, you will receive additional compensation at the effective negotiated rate (currently $6500 for a full-year) in addition to your base salary for instructing this additional period. This additional amount will be paid as a supplement and will be disbursed in equal payments based on the District’s established payroll calendar for this position. This amount is considered part of your salary for Florida Retirement System purposes.***
