HudMed USA is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Support Specialists to join our team in support of an upcoming Labor & Delivery (L&D) program at our hospital facility in New Brunswick, NJ.
In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining hospital safety standards by managing the pickup, transport, decontamination, cleaning, reassembly, and delivery of specialized medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Workflow Management: Manage the transition of instrument trays, containers, and carts between Prep & Pack and Decontamination, prioritizing urgent and high-priority items.
- Equipment Sorting & Storage: Accurately retrieve, sort, and route instrument trays (including vendor, priority, and pediatric trays) to their designated storage racks.
- Cart Washer Operations: Load, unload, and maintain cart washers to ensure continuous processing cycles between the Clean and Dirty sides. Keep cart areas clear to prevent bottlenecks.
- Biohazard & Container Processing: Safely handle, clean, dry, and label biohazard bins and containers according to facility standards. Inspect items for damage and report unserviceable equipment.
- Decontamination Support: Route soiled instruments and unopened specialty bins directly to hospital SPD technicians.
- Workplace Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring floors are free of debris, labels, and hazards at the end of each shift.
Schedule & Hours
- Shift Time: Evening / Night Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Position Type: Full-Time
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in medical equipment handling, hospital environmental services, or sterile processing support preferred.
- Strong adherence to safety guidelines, sanitation protocol, and infection control procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for equipment logging.
- Ability to stand, walk, and transport equipment carts throughout the facility for the duration of the shift.
