Youth Sports Coach – HuddleUP Football

HuddleUP Football is looking for energetic, dependable, and positive coaches who genuinely enjoy working with children!

Are you a college student, teacher, athlete, coach, daycare professional, or simply someone who loves helping kids learn and grow?

You may be a great fit for HuddleUP.

HuddleUP is a social-skill-based flag football program for children ages 2–12. Our coaches lead fun, age-appropriate football activities while helping children develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, confidence, listening, cooperation, and sportsmanship.

You do NOT need to be a football expert. We provide training and a structured curriculum.

What You'll Do

As a HuddleUP Coach, you will:

  • Lead fun, structured flag football lessons for children ages 2–12
  • Work with small groups of approximately 5–10 children
  • Teach basic football skills through games and activities
  • Encourage teamwork, communication, confidence, and positive social interaction
  • Create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for every child
  • Follow HuddleUP's curriculum and coaching expectations
  • Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, daycare staff, and HuddleUP leadership
  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to engage with children

What We're Looking For

We are looking for people who are:

  • Energetic and enthusiastic
  • Patient and comfortable working with young children
  • Dependable and responsible
  • Positive and encouraging
  • Comfortable leading a small group
  • Able to communicate clearly with children and adults
  • Professional and respectful
  • Willing to learn and follow a structured curriculum
  • Comfortable being active and participating in outdoor activities
  • Able to reliably travel to assigned program locations

Experience With Children Is a Plus — But Not Everything

Experience in any of the following is helpful:

  • Youth coaching
  • Daycare or childcare
  • Teaching
  • Camp counseling
  • After-school programs
  • Volunteer work with children
  • Sports
  • Education or child development
  • Recreation
  • Leadership

We are also interested in college students and strong candidates who may not have traditional childcare experience but demonstrate excellent leadership, responsibility, and enthusiasm for working with children.

Why HuddleUP?

HuddleUP isn't just about teaching football.

We believe sports can help children learn how to:

Communicate.
Cooperate.
Take turns.
Build confidence.
Handle challenges.
Be part of a team.

You'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on children while gaining valuable experience in leadership, coaching, communication, and child development.

Compensation

$20–$30 per hour, depending on experience and role.

Part-time opportunities are available, with schedules varying based on program locations and enrollment.

This position can be a great fit for:

  • College students
  • Education majors
  • Former or current athletes
  • Teachers and teaching assistants
  • Youth coaches
  • Childcare professionals
  • Camp counselors
  • Anyone looking for meaningful part-time work with children

What Makes a Great HuddleUP Coach?

You don't have to be the best football player.

You need to be the person who can walk onto a field and make a child feel:

"I'm safe here."
"I can do this."
"I'm part of the team."

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
