Duties
- Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary trends
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and handling techniques are followed
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and smooth kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and communicate needs to management promptly
Experience
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or fine dining environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices in the food industry
