💼 Onsite Position | No Remote Option
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Travel: Local travel required (patient visits and care coordination)
Compensation: $80.00/HR
Job Summary
The Certified Wound & Ostomy Nurse (CWON) functions as a clinical resource for patients and staff in the management of ostomy care, continence disorders, acute and chronic wounds, skin breakdown, and fistulae. This role provides direct wound and ostomy care in both inpatient and outpatient settings and plays a critical role in patient and family education before and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assess all patients with pressure injuries staged at Stage III or above
Evaluate and manage all hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) and ensure appropriate reporting
Assess overall hospital practices and implement strategies to reduce and eliminate HAPIs
Provide expert wound, ostomy, continence, and skin care assessments and treatment planning
🧠 Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience
Demonstrates initiative and strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols
🎯 Preferred Skills & Experience
Two (2) years of experience in wound and ostomy care
📜 Required Certifications & Licensure
Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of California (active and in good standing)
CWON Certification – REQUIRED
Wound and Ostomy Certification
Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance
