Hubot, Inc. is seeking an R&D Chemist / Stability to help set up our Winchester, VA laboratory and lead the day-to-day execution of stability programs—designing and running studies that support shelf-life, product performance, and regulatory readiness.

What You’ll Do
- Set up the lab in Winchester, including stability workflows, documentation readiness, and testing execution
- Design and execute stability studies (accelerated, real-time, and stress testing)
- Monitor stability samples according to approved protocols and schedules
- Evaluate product performance under varying conditions (temperature, humidity, light)
- Investigate out-of-trend (OOT) and out-of-specification (OOS) stability results
- Perform chemical and physical testing using techniques such as:
- HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer
- pH, viscosity, appearance (and related physical attribute testing)
- Analyze and trend stability data to support shelf-life claims and product performance conclusions
- Prepare stability summaries, reports, and technical documentation
- Author and maintain stability protocols, stability reports, SOPs, and controlled records
- Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, ICH, FDA, and ISO guidelines
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and electronic records
- Support regulatory submissions and audits as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with formulation, analytical, quality, and packaging teams
- Provide technical input during product development and scale-up
- Support change control, deviation investigations, and risk assessments
- Identify opportunities to improve stability testing methods and processes
- Support method validation and verification activities
- Support R&D formulation development and troubleshoot formulation or packaging-related stability issues
Who You Are (Hands-On Stability Chemist)
- Comfortable working in a lab environment with strong attention to detail and data integrity
- Able to manage multiple studies, timelines, and documentation requirements
- Curious, analytical, and proactive in troubleshooting stability challenges
- Collaborative communicator who can work across R&D, Quality, and Operations
Must-Have Skills (Stability & Analytical Execution)
- Practical experience designing and/or executing stability studies (accelerated, real-time, stress)
- Strong understanding of OOT/OOS concepts and structured investigation support
- Hands-on familiarity with key analytical and physical testing techniques:
- HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer
- pH, viscosity, appearance
- Data analysis, trending, and interpretation to support shelf-life and performance conclusions
- Technical writing for protocols, reports, and SOPs
- Working knowledge of GLP/GMP expectations and applicable guidance (ICH / FDA / ISO)
