The Opportunity
We're hiring an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to serve as the primary site authority on health, safety, and environmental compliance at our South Bend manufacturing facility. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role — you'll shape culture, own the compliance framework, and protect the people and processes behind everything we make.

What You'll Own
🔒 Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Primary point of authority for OSHA, EPA, Indiana state, and local regulatory compliance
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve Hubot's Health & Safety Management System
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, ergonomics evaluations, and operational safety reviews
🔍 Incident Management
- Lead all incident and near-miss investigations
- Develop and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to verified closure
- Maintain accurate incident records and trend analysis
🎓 Training & Culture
- Deliver onboarding safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills
- Chair the site safety committee and champion a proactive safety culture
- Embed safe work practices across production, engineering, and support teams
🏭 Facility & Environmental Oversight
- Manage SDS library, chemical inventory, hazardous waste handling, and storage compliance
- Perform routine facility inspections: PPE, fire prevention, ventilation, emergency equipment
- Support air permitting, emissions recordkeeping, and environmental compliance activities
📁 Audit & Inspection Readiness
- Maintain inspection-ready documentation at all times
- Prepare for and support customer audits and regulatory inspections
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of EHS or H&S experience in pharmaceutical, CDMO, chemical, food & beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards (General Industry / 29 CFR 1910), industrial hygiene principles, and hazard communication (HazCom/GHS)
- Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations and managing CAPA systems
- Confident trainer across all levels — operators, technicians, engineers, and leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to enforce compliance with both authority and diplomacy
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits and organizational discipline
Preferred:
- CSP, ASP, CHMM, or OSHA 30-Hour certification
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems
- Experience with air permitting, TRI reporting, or EPA Tier II filings
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or CDMO environments
