Position Title: Cycle Counter

Position Summary

The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through routine cycle counts and inventory audits within a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with Production, Warehousing, Purchasing, and Shipping personnel to identify inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and ensure inventory accuracy to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods.
• Verify inventory quantities and locations within the ERP or inventory management system.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes of variances.
• Reconcile inventory differences and document corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and transaction integrity.
• Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure proper material movement and reporting.
• Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and assist in achieving inventory control objectives.
• Identify and report process issues that impact inventory accuracy.
• Assist with physical inventories and year-end inventory audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and inventory control procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and material handling.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory control experience preferred.
• Experience using ERP, MRP, or inventory management systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data entry.
• Ability to analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
