Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute purchasing strategy that supports the businesses’ overall market-driven strategy related to raw materials, components, purchase for resale products, and services
- Drive rapid, significant, and sustainable improvement in on-time delivery, lead-time, and purchase pricing
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability
- Advises stakeholders of significant purchasing issues that may impact business
- Analyzes categories and develop strategies to secure cost decreases
- Lead regular strategy deployment & KPI reviews for the purchasing team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities
- Periodically present plans and actual results, strategy deployment, and KPI progress. Take aggressive action to drive performance in the areas of purchase pricing, supply chain costs, and inventory levels
- Partner with functional leaders to coordinate supply chain functions with manufacturing, sales, marketing, design engineering, and other departments
- Continually benchmark best practices and implement as appropriate
- Establishes recommendations for supplier enhancement, termination, and new supplier development
- Take initiative to develop process improvements, simplify practices/workflows, and resolve problems
- Identify sources of supply, seek out the lowest total cost alternatives and develop solid working relationships with suppliers
- Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials on a short lead-time basis while satisfying all quality criteria
- Provide detailed reporting on market conditions to management
- Work closely with other functional areas to pursue alternative products solutions, which will reduce costs

- BS/BA in Supply Chain Management or Equivalent
- 5 Years of sourcing/purchasing experience with 3 Years management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, & Outlook)
- Solid experience with major MRP software/tools
- Clear, energetic, and engaging presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly.
- Comfortable with challenging the status quo
- Ability to work with a team or independently and be a self-starter
- Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Willingness to travel as needed (approx. 15%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong demonstrated SAP experience
- APICS/ASCM Certification
- MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
