Position Overview
The Quotations Specialist is responsible for day-to-day pricing requirements, including assisting the sales organization in price negotiations, approving all quoted levels and maintaining long term agreements. Both internal and external customers rely on the Quotations Specialist to follow all established approval procedures while quickly turning around new agreements in a timely manner. In addition, the Specialist will be capable of articulating product functions, features and benefits of Hubbell Killark products while proactively participating in the quotation approval and entry process.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the sales organization to ensure that pricing is improved without losing market share to the competition. Candidates will be comfortable with the situational nature of pricing.
- Pull reports, analyze and manipulate data using Excel.
- Resolve and/or provides input towards the final determination of claims/debits that are pricing related.
- Makes continuous and dynamic decisions on a high level of daily transactions which have a direct impact on the company's fiscal performance.
- Provide accurate product/application pricing by being technically adept at building quotations for specialty products in the configuration database.
- Assist in the management of the quotation process, including completion of all contract documentation, assignment of quotation number and generation of management tracking reports.
- Assist in the management of stock pricing process, including completion of all approval documentation, entry of pricing into SAP and ensuring pricing strategy aligns and support Managements’ directive.
- Understand and support e-Commerce initiatives specifically those related to pricing
- Maintain current knowledge of all active marketing/sales/pricing programs
- Maintain good customer relations at all times. Provide reliable, prompt and courteous communications to and from factory, field sales and distributors.
Skills and Experience
- A four-year Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in business or qualified background in specified field of expertise.
- A minimum of two years related industry experience.
- Exposure to the bidding process, field sales/company interaction, negotiation and organizational skills will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- An in-depth understanding of the business dynamics related to sales and marketing objectives and their impact on financial results.
- The ability to operate in a continual mode of negotiation, coaching, and decision-making.
- Possess the analytical skills necessary to manage and administer pricing for their assigned accounts.
- The ability to deal professionally with a high degree of integrity with confidential information such as pricing, costs, commissions, and financial results.
- An in-depth understanding and comfort with regard to PC based systems, specific experience with Microsoft Office and SAP is strongly desired
