Specifically looking for applicants have experience in one or multiple areas including
- dance, group fitness, silver sneakers/strength, cardio drumming
- male specific activities including construction, auto repair, etc
- ability and desire to work one on one with residents and their specific interests
Duties
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities and resident events tailored to diverse interests and abilities
- Develop and implement engaging programs that promote cognitive stimulation, socialization, and physical activity
- Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interaction, fostering a sense of community and belonging
- Coordinate schedules for activities, ensuring smooth execution and participation from residents
- Collaborate with team members to assess resident needs and adapt programs accordingly
- Support memory care initiatives and assist with Alzheimer's and dementia-specific activities to enhance quality of life
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory support strategies
- Experience in event planning, program development, or recreational therapy is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and resident record management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities when needed
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in working with seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Familiarity with long-term care practices, home & community care services, or working with geriatric patients is beneficial
