Headquartered in CT and manufacturing in SC and MI, we excel at providing tank-side expertise to our surface finishing customers and best-in-class logistics to our distribution customers.
Position Overview:
We want to double our market share in the surface finishing market in NE and grow our distribution business in the next 5 years and are looking for a proess-oriented Director of Sales to lead the effort. This role requires an effective team leader with proven long-term success in sales management, key account development, and goal execution. The right candidate will also have expertise in sales operations and the ability to use modern analytics to drive profitability. While experience in the chemical industry is preferred, we are open to successful candidates with experience in adjacent technical fields, with an extended sales cycle in a business-to-business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a comprehensive sales strategy to double market share for the surface finishing market in the Northeast within five years.
- Augment and grow the distribution business in the Northeast, with a focus on commodity chemicals for manufacturing and a fast-growing niche in electronic-grade chemistry for semiconductor fabs.
- Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals and technical account managers, fostering a culture of process adherence, accountability and expertise.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including technical, account management, and operations, to deliver seamless customer solutions.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Institute and manage an effective pricing program to drive profitability and market competitiveness.
- Utilize modern analytics to optimize sales performance, forecast accurately, and inform strategic decisions.
- Drive business development efforts to expand into new accounts and deepen existing partnerships.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years in a sales leadership role within a single organization, or a clear trajectory of career progression in B2B sales, managing and developing high-performing sales and account management teams.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on technical sales in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve growth targets and drive sustained success over multiple years within a company.
- A clear track record of long-term impact and leadership in prior roles.
- Excellent networking skills and superior communication ability.
- Experience with effective sales operations, including analytics and pricing program implementation.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, or a related field.
- Residence in the northeast required, residence within a commuting distance to Waterbury Connecticut preferred.
