Duties
- Monitor pool areas continuously to ensure guest safety and enforce water safety rules
- Respond promptly and effectively to water emergencies, including water rescues and medical incidents
- Conduct regular pool maintenance, including cleaning, chemical checks, and equipment inspections to uphold health standards
- Provide water safety instruction and swim lessons to guests of all skill levels, especially children
- Assist with guest services by answering questions, providing directions, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors
- Perform routine safety drills, emergency response procedures, and first aid protocols as needed
- Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and safety records to ensure compliance with public safety procedures
Skills
- Proven lifeguard experience with current certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and basic life support
- Strong swimming ability with experience in water rescue response techniques
- Knowledge of pool maintenance, cleaning procedures, and chemical handling
- Excellent customer service skills with experience working with children and diverse guest populations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting related to pool equipment or supplies safely
- Familiarity with public safety procedures, medical emergency response protocols, and first aid standards
- Effective communication skills to instruct water safety courses and coordinate with team members during emergencies
