The Lead Person is to assist the Supervisor or Manager for the overall performance of the warehouse, and operations. The Lead Person plans, organizes, helps staff, directs, and controls the warehouse activities. Assisting in the selection, training, and motivation of the workforce are key responsibilities. The Lead Person is accountable for helping to achieve company objectives in regard to safe workplace, properly trained work force, labor cost efficiency, employee productivity, customer service, efficient storage, accuracy and clean food grade warehouse.
The successful candidate:
- Has at least 3 years' experience within distribution center
- Successfully communicates with co-workers and customers both in writing and verbally with fluency in the English language.
- Participates in a team environment focused on hard work and fun.
- Has a valid forklift permit or pass the written test/obstacle course for forklift certification.
- Works independently and follows procedures/work instructions.
- Has prior success building, leading and directing a team to meet business metrics.
- Can train team members in safe equipment operation and maintenance.
- Be able to perform calculations including adding, subtracting, division and multiplication including passing the company math test.
- Be able to pass a post-offer drug & alcohol screen that includes THC.
