Position Overview
The Child Care Floater will provide support across multiple classrooms, assisting lead teachers and helping maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for supporting children from infants through 4 year.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support by assisting teachers with daily routines, activities, and supervision.
- Step into various classrooms as needed to ensure proper ratios and consistent care.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff across all age groups.
- Support children with feeding, diapering, potty training, and hygiene routines as appropriate.
- Help maintain classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization.
- Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and health/safety procedures.
- Be a team player, ready to step in where needed each day.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (CDA or Early Childhood coursework preferred).
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting strongly preferred.
- Flexibility to work with different age groups and adapt to varying classroom environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must meet state childcare licensing requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to sit, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Stamina to move between classrooms and adjust to changing needs.
