POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director, the Ranger is responsible for monitoring wildlife and outdoor recreation activities on the Hualapai Reservation as set forth in Natural Resource Ordinance 24-70.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to interact with guest and tour companies, provide detailed information regarding tourism options.
- Collect permit fees in the field or in the office and disseminates information to visitors, hunters and campers;
- Monitor valid permits and report non-permittees on the Hualapai Reservation;
- Monitor all game take or transported, assists in the seizure of all wildlife taken or possessed in violation of Tribal Law;;
- Assist in the search of any aircraft, vehicle, boat, hunting camp, game bag, etc. where there is probable cause that wildlife or parts thereof is possessed in violation of Tribal Law;
- Good knowledge of court procedures and Hualapai Law and Order Code;
- Must be able to work varying schedule, weekends, and holidays.
- Enforce all Hualapai Tribal Ordinance
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma and must be at least 21 years of age,
OR
- Prior experience in police work, other law enforcement field, is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have knowledge of the Hualapai Indian Reservation, its Natural Resources, River Running Operations, hunting protocols, and any other ordinances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, manages, and control workflow.
Other:
- Must never been convicted of a felony.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random test thereafter.
- Must have a valid Driver License and able to pass an MVR check and is insurable.
