Position Summary
The Environmental Health and Safety Intern is responsible for supporting the EHS manager in providing support, advice, and solutions, ensuring compliance, and developing best practices for HuFriedy Group. Over the course of the internship the intern will acquire knowledge in Environmental Reporting, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management Systems, Chemical Management, Risk Assessments and Energy Control Procedures.
Working closely with management and the operational business to champion, communicate and ensure the delivery of the EHS strategy with the objective of making and keeping the business safe against existing and emerging health and safety, fire safety and environmental risks.
Primary Duties
- Work with site leadership to conduct chemical risk assessments of each substance present at the facility.
- Provide support within a safety management system to ensure the system is utilized to the full potential of the system.
- Develop energy control procedures to ensure Lock Out Tag Out is performed in compliance with Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
- Coordinate with site leadership to conduct job hazard analyses.
- Provide training and communication of Environmental Health and Safety topics and goals.
- Assist with developing audits, checklists, and questionnaires.
- Assist EHS manager with hygiene sampling.
- Track and communicate Environmental Health and Safety key performance indicators.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma required
- Currently enrolled in an Environmental Health and Safety bachelor's degree program.
Salary : $18 - $19
