What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Quality Manager position at HTI?
HTI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager with an international transformer manufacturer at their new start-up facility in Waynesboro, GA (located just south of Augusta, GA). Relocation allowance for candidates located outside of the area (within CONUS).
This is a full-time, direct-hire, onsite position. The company offers fantastic benefits, a positive work culture, and opportunities for growth and advancement. Salary will depend on experience and education. Working hours are Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm.
Requirements:
- Must have 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, and/or similar role with an assembly manufacturing plant
- Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering
- Must have experience conducting quality inspections on parts and finished products, as well as conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Must have experience communicating with customers regarding quality issues and audits, and accompanying them during audits and visits
- Experience with an ISO and/or UL certified company is strongly preferred
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings/blueprints, work instructions, plans, diagrams and product specifications
- Must possess strong, professional written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to effectively coordinate with internal team members and customers at all levels
- SOP/training documentation development and editing experience is preferred
- Must have strong computer skills (MS Office), and ERP system experience is a plus
- Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change as this is a start-up environment
- Experience with measuring/testing tools and quality-related equipment preferred
- Previous training, certifications, and/or experience in quality related problem-solving techniques (5 Whys, etc.) is preferred
Summary:
Will ensure that all finished products meet quality standards, in accordance with internal and customer requirements and specifications. This role will involve heavy time on the plant floor conducting quality checks on finished products, conducting root cause analysis on non-conformances, development/implementation of corrective actions, and communicating with internal departments on quality-related issues.
Job duties include:
- Serve as a representative of the company’s international Quality management team, and communicate with them regularly to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on any non-conformances
- Serve as the plant Quality representative to customers and external contacts for quality-related issues and audits (internal, 3rd party, and customer)
- Analyze and recommend appropriate changes to production and assembly procedures
- Track and report all quality-related KPI’s
- Establish, implement, and enforce procedures/SOP’s for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety
- Coordinate ongoing internal quality training with the Production Supervisor and management team in order to ensure that quality procedures are in use, functional, and efficient
- Coordinate and communicate with the Purchasing department to resolve supplier quality issues
- Promote, recommend, and participate in company-wide quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct quality inspections, measurements, and testing of assembled products and parts to ensure they are in compliance with internal and customer standards and specifications
