Job Purpose
This position supervises a team in the making and assembly of gear motor products and is responsible for scheduling of work, set-up of work centers and assembly lines, maintenance of equipment, special fixtures, and test equipment. Also responsible for ensuring employees follow all prescribed safety procedures, ensuring adherence to appropriate quality standards, completing proper documentation, providing leadership on the production floor, and meeting production output standards. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or related field
Experience:
Required: 4 years’ experience leading final assembly operations, including work order execution and
coordination with upstream manufacturing processes
Preferred: 6 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment including supervision of CNC Machining

Job Responsibility Summary
General Responsibilities:
- Work in cooperation with team leads to manage daily production activities ensuring work orders flow efficiently through CNC machining and final assembly
- Work with team leads to assign employees to workstations and coordinate labor to meet production schedules
- Train new employees on job responsibilities and work instructions
- Supervise, evaluate, and support the hourly production team
- Maintain accurate time, attendance, and production records
- Lead through servant leadership while holding self and the team to high performance standards
- Ensure effective employee relations, evaluate employee performance, and help make employment decisions
- Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed on production equipment
- Identify work procedures, issue written and oral instructions, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow
- Plan and coordinate work, monitor and evaluate performance and productivity of employees, and ensure their ability to safely operate equipment
- Coordinate machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers as required
- Coordinate workflow between workstations and areas to minimize downtime and bottlenecks
- Ensure written work order instructions are followed
- Manage department performance measures including visual controls and provide regular progress reports
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including completion of performance corrective action & documentation
- Communicate professionally with employees to help solve any work-related issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate production changes, priorities, and expectations to the team
- Promote and enforce all safety rules and company policies
- Ensure production lines operate safely, smoothly, and produce quality parts
- Coach standardized work and verify adherence to quality and safety standards
- Build strong working relationships with team members and management
- Analyze and resolve production, quality, and workflow issues
- Administer corrective action in coordination with Human Resources when required
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
