Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications throughout the software development lifecycle. This role involves building high-quality backend services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design software architecture, determine appropriate technology stacks, and define deployment strategies.
- Develop backend applications, APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Create high-level software architecture and application designs.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, designers, and cross-functional teams.
- Define and implement software testing strategies and best practices.
- Apply Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD) practices.
- Improve application performance and optimize development efficiency.
- Support software security through secure coding practices, encryption, and data protection.
- Develop user-friendly and interactive software interfaces where applicable.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve engineering capabilities.
- Apply AI-assisted and agentic AI tools to accelerate code generation, improve code reviews, automate development workflows, and support spec-driven development.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through responsible AI adoption.
- Ensure AI-assisted code is secure, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 10 years of IT experience.
- 8 years of software development experience.
- Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including services such as Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Practical experience in two programming languages or advanced expertise in one programming language.
- Proven experience using AI-assisted and agentic AI software engineering practices.
- Familiarity with spec-driven development.
- Strong understanding of secure coding, software design, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
