Overview / Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data & Application Administrator to lead data modernization and informatics initiatives. This role is responsible for managing data infrastructure, guiding strategic planning, and improving data integration, governance, and interoperability within a public health environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Select and manage a team of data modernization and informatics staff
- Lead the team’s strategic planning and implementation efforts
- Manage data infrastructure to:
- Improve data integration
- Enhance interoperability
- Ensure effective data governance
- Support reporting and visualization development
- Ensure modernization efforts improve:
- Timeliness and quality of data
- Coordination of data activities and systems
- Reduction of data burden
- Integration of emerging and open-source technologies (where possible)
- Coordinate with agency experts to assess the current data environment
- Identify improvements needed for developing an effective data warehouse and data integration strategy
- 10 years of professional experience in health or related data or systems management
- Master’s degree in public health, health informatics, data science, or related field
- Prior experience working with public health agencies (e.g., CDC, NIH, or State Departments of Health) to modernize legacy data infrastructures
