Key Responsibilities
Frontend Development & User Experience
- Design and develop responsive, accessible UI for a public-facing data exploration portal
- Build interactive UI components such as tree navigation, query builders, filter panels, and visualization control panels
- Develop clean, reusable frontend components for scalable and maintainable UI architecture
- Ensure a consistent user experience aligned with project requirements and design standards
- Build interactive chart visualizations including time-series, bar charts, and multi-series displays
- Integrate geospatial map visualizations using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and REST-based map services
- Support seamless user interactions across maps, charts, tables, and filtering tools
- Implement dataset export and download workflows across multiple formats
- Consume RESTful APIs for dynamic data rendering and state management
- Collaborate with backend developers to define API contracts and improve query efficiency
- Optimize frontend performance for data-heavy, interactive experiences
- Ensure smooth integration between UI components, backend services, and data delivery patterns
- Ensure compliance with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements
- Use automated testing tools and frontend best practices to support accessibility compliance
- Integrate accessibility validation into delivery workflows and CI/CD gates
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests using Jest
- Strong experience developing modern, responsive frontend applications
- Experience building interactive user interfaces for data-driven or analytical applications
- Experience with JavaScript and modern frontend development practices
- Experience with Chart.js, D3.js, or similar visualization libraries
- Experience integrating REST APIs into frontend applications
- Experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript or similar geospatial/mapping integrations
- Experience with frontend testing approaches including unit and integration testing
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards such as ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA
- Ability to collaborate with backend, QA, architecture, and delivery teams
