Location: Chicago, Illinois

Position Type: Full-time, in-person

Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 per year, based on experience

Position Summary

HTC Commercial Flooring is seeking an experienced Commercial Flooring Field Manager to oversee flooring installation projects throughout Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial flooring systems, strong field leadership experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, installers, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients.

This position plays an essential role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within scope, and according to HTC’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial flooring installation projects from project startup through completion

• Coordinate and support installers, subcontractors, and other on-site personnel

• Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and site conditions

• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, schedules, and installation requirements

• Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and HTC quality standards

• Collaborate with project managers to identify and resolve field-related issues

• Communicate project updates, delays, material needs, and jobsite concerns promptly

• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, inventory, and on-site logistics

• Monitor project schedules and help ensure established deadlines are met

• Perform quality-control inspections throughout each phase of installation

• Enforce company safety policies, jobsite requirements, and applicable OSHA standards

• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, photographs, and incident reports

• Participate in jobsite meetings and communicate professionally with clients, general contractors, and project partners

• Assist with punch-list completion and final project closeout

• Represent HTC Commercial Flooring professionally in the field

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial flooring, construction field management, or a similar supervisory role

• Extensive knowledge of commercial flooring materials, systems, and installation methods

• Strong leadership and field coordination skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

• Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and drawings

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to build positive working relationships with installers, subcontractors, clients, and project teams

• Proficiency with project management software, mobile applications, and digital reporting tools

• Thorough understanding of jobsite safety requirements and OSHA standards

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

Experience managing projects involving a variety of commercial flooring systems, including:

• Luxury vinyl tile (LVT)

• Carpet tile

• Broadloom carpet

• Sheet vinyl

• Wood flooring

• Ceramic and porcelain tile

• Polished concrete

• Epoxy flooring

Certifications or formal training in flooring installation, construction management, or jobsite safety are preferred but not required.

Work Environment

• Full-time, in-person position based out of HTC’s Chicago office

• Frequent travel to jobsites throughout Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area

• Occasional regional or national travel may be required

• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends when project schedules require
