Unarmed Security Officer (Washington, D.C.) – Full-Time and part-time shifts available, Must Work Weekends
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dependable and professional Unarmed Security Officer for an upscale apartment and retail community in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time roving position (approximately 30-40 hours per week). Multiple shifts are available, including 9 pm-5 am, and 11 pm - 7 am.
🛑 Weekend availability is mandatory.
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid DC Security Officer License
- Must have reliable transportation and a working cell phone
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, including in varied weather conditions
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
Primary Responsibilities:
- Patrol the premises and maintain a visible security presence
- Monitor entrances, exits, and surveillance systems
- Deter loitering, panhandling, and unauthorized access
- Respond promptly to suspicious activity and critical incidents
- Enforce property rules and community policies
- Write detailed daily activity and incident reports
- Rove between assigned areas, including amenity spaces, garages, and common areas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous security experience or related background in public safety
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently with integrity and professionalism
