JOB DESCRIPTION
The HSI Solar, LLC Commercial Solar Project Manager will be responsible for all project deliverables, including but not limited to the oversight of design review and integration, managing lower-tier resources, budget allocation, and project schedules. The Project Manager must provide excellent management and communication skills while strengthening and maintaining stakeholder relationships throughout the delivery of the project.
Please note: This position is based in our north side Indianapolis office and requires regular in-person attendance. Remote work is not available for this role.
HSI projects are run in (3) phases where the Project Manager is responsible for managing and/or providing oversight:
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Agreement
- Correspond and coordinate outsourced project-level professional design engineering and ensure projects are constructed in compliance with applicable code requirements
- Coordinate equipment selection to meet financial objectives and engineered design requirements
- Collaborate with Development team through the Interconnection Application (IA) Phase
- Assist Procurement Manager with bid solicitation based on engineering design documentation and other site-specific variables, including Domestic Content as per the HSI standard operating procedure.
- Understand permit requirements and means of securing required permits
- Obtain contract grade pricing based on engineered design documents
- Meet project timeline expectations as outlined in the Development Agreement
- Prepare all required contract exhibits (Delivery Schedule, Billing Schedule, etc.)
- Schedule and manage the pre-contract meeting with Sales, Accounting, Grant, and Project Administrative teams
Delivery
- Handle project bookings with Sales, Accounting, and the Project Administrative teams
- Manage the release of Purchase Orders for project-related materials and equipment being procured directly by HSI (confirming Domestic Content compliance with Project Administrator)
- Manage Subcontractors and their specified lower tiers
- Oversee project design partners to complete permits and issue for construction design documents
- Prepare for monthly project financial meetings (Allocate project budget, costs to date, and monthly financial forecast to completion)
- Monitor & maintain project construction schedules with project team and all stakeholders
- Ensure the project team and all associated subcontractors understand and adhere to the contract, associated exhibits, and project-specific agreements
Project Closeout
- Manage project punch list completion
- Coordinate timely Permission to Operate with Development Team and Utility
- Oversee HSI’s project closeout procedure with Project Administrative Team

- Comprehensive monitoring and management of the contracted project scope (including deliverables, timing, and budgeted costs), project-relevant sub-contractor, vendor, and materials management
- Review and ensure compliance with construction drawings, including tracking all deviations from original design to as-built drawings
- Coordinate outsourced project-related professional engineering activities
- Efficient and effective communication, both written and verbal
- Experience leading meetings, engaging teams, speaking individually and in collaboration with others appropriately and as needed with groups and stakeholders, and creating/editing/delivering virtual and in-person presentations (utilizing MS PowerPoint, MS Office, and PDF software tools)
- Scheduling software (MS Project)
- Job Costing
- Experience reviewing Solesca or Helioscope reports is expected; experience creating Solesca or Helioscope reports is desired
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Must have 5 years of relevant experience with 3 years in commercial construction or solar project management
- Must be willing to travel
SALARY RANGE
$80,000 commensurate with experience
