The Part-Time IT Representative plays a key role in supporting Hornets Sports & Entertainment’s technology and telecommunications infrastructure. This position provides hands-on support for desktop PCs, event technology, and networking during basketball games, concerts, and other events at Spectrum Center.
Responsibilities:

Track, document, and resolve all helpdesk requests using the ticket management system.

Assist with the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of statistical equipment during Hornets home games.

Provide technology support for concerts, family shows, and other live events.

Relocate and configure computer equipment throughout the building.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot PC hardware and Microsoft operating systems.

Prepare and test game-day PC hardware and components several hours before events.

Respond to virus, malware, and other security threats while implementing preventative measures.

Provide general network support, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, and wireless systems.

Support NBA Stats system and other video/computer-related platforms.

Assist media, staff, and guests with connectivity to wired and wireless networks.

Work with IT Services staff, Stats crew, and “game night” technology teams to ensure smooth event operations.

Safely handle network data, serial, and video cabling.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues in a timely manner.

Maintain flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and game/event schedules.
Qualifications:
-
Associate degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, plus 2 years of IT experience (equivalent experience may be substituted for education).

Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

Proficiency with Windows operating systems.

Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.

Reliable transportation and mobile communication access.

Working knowledge of networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LANs, WANs, and wireless technologies.

Familiarity with serial communications, video systems, and broadcast technology preferred.

Strong work ethic and dependability.
