The Financial Crime (FC) Risk Analysis & Discovery (RAD) team c ombines financial crime subject matter expertise with data-driven analytical approaches to analyze and articulate HSBC’s exposure to emerging and crystallised financial crime risk. Uses analytical insights to support Risk Stewards, Risk Owners, and Control Owners to drive enhancements in the Bank’s financial crime control environment and framework. Delivers timely and accurate reports and briefings to a diverse set of audiences within the Bank. Collaborates with other teams within the wider Risk & Compliance function and the Lines of Business.

As our SVP Head of Financial Crime Risk Analysis and Discovery, US you will:
- Identify strategic, relevant insights on emerging and crystallized financial crime risks impacting the Bank’s control framework at a market, business, or product level.
- Articulate insights by producing high-quality and timely written reports in line with the Risk Analysis and Discovery Framework.
- Produce analytic output that genuinely furthers the bank’s understanding of illicit methodologies, profiles, and behaviors and is captured in the Global Typology Library to drive control enhancement or adaptation.
- Contribute to team development by inspiring and driving the development of research, analytical, writing and presentation skills within the team.
- Assist with managing the delivery of high-quality and timely analysis products, ensuring that the insights drive tangible improvements to the Bank’s control framework and risk culture.
- Contribute to team strategy and lead on innovation, identifying technology, tools, and techniques that broaden the scope and value of Risk Analysis and Discovery projects.
- Drive FC RAD data responses to formal US Treasury US Dollar transaction data requests and any associated analysis for insights and exposure to illicit finance and financial crime risks for HSBC.

- Experience working in private and/or public sector Risk Analysis & Discovery with extensive experience in delivering impactful Risk Analysis and Discovery analysis projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with extensive experience translating complex findings from disparate sources into actionable and relevant insights for stakeholders and decision makers.
- Highly skilled in data analysis: interpretation and transformation of data sets, delivering intelligence insights from raw data and producing effective and innovative data visualisations.
- Proven expertise in financial crime and illicit finance themes, such as sanctions evasion, export control evasion, proliferation, terrorist financing or money laundering, or macro themes that impact the financial crime landscape, such as geopolitics.
- A proven track record of building relationships and proactively engaging with stakeholders across the organization and with external public and private sector stakeholders to gather information and influence positive impactful outcomes.
- Experience with peer review and a proven track record of working with colleagues to shape, refine, and deliver impactful analysis products in a timely delivery approach.
