What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) position at HS&M Mental Health & Education?
Are you passionate about making a direct impact on the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, or substance use disorders? HS&M is seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to provide home and community-based support services.
We have openings for team members to provide the following services:
Community Living & Support (CLS): Assist individuals with developing and enhancing self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills to live successfully in their own homes and participate in community life.
Independent Living (IL): Support individuals in developing the skills needed to live as independently as possible. Assist with budgeting, meal planning, household management, medication reminders, accessing community resources, transportation training, and building confidence in daily living and decision-making.
Supported Employment (SE): Help individuals obtain and maintain competitive employment in integrated community settings. Provide job coaching and on-the-job support.
Respite: Provide temporary, non-medical care to relieve primary caregivers, ensuring the individual's safety and well-being during engagement in recreational and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support tailored to individual needs and goals.
- Encourage community integration and participation.
- Assist with daily living activities and personal care (for CLS and Respite services).
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills (for IL services).
- Document services provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Bilingual candidates are highly preferred.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Previous experience is a plus but not required.
