What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant position at HRYMCA?
The Hampshire Regional YMCA is seeking a dedicated educator for our brand new preschool program! This position offers the opportunity to become part of the Northampton community, as well as take advantage of the wonderful offerings and environment of our YMCA. If you are passionate about working with kids and community, this is the role for you. Help us build a wonderful preschool! Position begins December 2025.
Job Duties:
- Assist teachers with maintaining classroom routine and safety throughout programming
- Assist with ongoing observations of children in the classroom
- Provide consistent and thoughtful communication to families of children
- Attend and participate in family nights for the program
- Attend regular staff meetings monthly
- Provide care in the afternoon shift during extended care hours
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have completed 10th grade and be in the process of obtaining a high school diploma or equivalent
- Year-round availability required (including summer)
