Role Overview Imagine starting your day in Dearborn, MI calibrating microphones and accelerometers, verifying channel maps, and launching a new assessment in Siemens Simcenter Test.Lab. By mid-morning, you’re running a driveline characterization on a chassis dyno, logging clean data, and flagging an unexpected tonal peak. After lunch, you swap components, run a confirmation test, and brief the team on findings and next steps. That’s a typical day for an Automotive NVH Testing Specialist on our R&D team. Position Details Location: Dearborn, MIJob Type: Long-term Contract (Open-ended; Potential for Direct Hire)Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime as Needed)Pay Rate: $23 – $27 per hour (Paid sick leave and optional benefits available) What You’ll Do Set up and instrument vehicles, subsystems, and components for NVH and durability testing.Execute test procedures and record complete, accurate configuration and results.Validate data quality and determine when follow-up or additional testing is needed.Spot and help troubleshoot NVH, durability, or test-method issues; support countermeasure development.Summarize data, create reports, and clearly communicate outcomes to engineers and stakeholders.Perform light mechanical work to enable testing, including part changes and test-related modifications.Pitch in on other test lab tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.At least 1 year of NVH testing or closely related experience.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Preferred Education Associate degree in a technical field. Core Knowledge and Skills Background in one or more: powertrain and driveline NVH, vehicle NVH, modal analysis, mount systems, acoustic/damping materials.Hands-on experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and test equipment; sound data processing techniques.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Strong multitasking, teamwork, and communication (written and verbal). Nice-to-Have Expertise Familiarity with NVH software: Siemens Simcenter Test.Lab, National Instruments LabVIEW, MTS Flextest.Ability to diagnose and resolve NVH concerns via experimental and analytical methods.Strong data processing capability and working knowledge of underlying mathematics.Experience operating powertrain or chassis dynamometers.Building custom test fixtures/stands.Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, when required.
