Job Summary:
The Senior Field Engineering Representative will provide on-site technical leadership and field engineering support for a single defense program. This role serves as the primary on-ground point of contact during vehicle testing, training, operations, and sustainment activities at customer locations. The role requires a working knowledge of all applicable vehicle subsystems and be capable of hands-on troubleshooting, issue diagnosis, and coordination of engineering resources to support mission success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the single point of contact and leadership element for Roush Defense during on-site customer operations.
• Lead and support on-ground operations, maintenance, testing, and training activities across all assigned vehicle platforms.
• Maintain working knowledge of all vehicle subsystems and diagnose system failures to guide technical resolution.
• Coordinate and direct internal engineering resources and external subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Interface professionally with U.S. Government stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Participate in hands-on training in Michigan and Maryland prior to deployment.
Education and Experience (required):
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant field engineering or defense vehicle experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex ground vehicle systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):
• Ability to obtain and maintain Department of War security clearance, up to Top Secret.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software-based vehicle subsystems.
• Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on diagnostics and repairs in field environments.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to lead on-ground teams.
• Ability to travel extensively and reside at assigned program locations for extended periods.
Education and Experience (preferred):
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics or related multidisciplinary engineering field.
• Prior experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense ground vehicle programs.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):
• Active, ongoing Department of Defense security clearance and ability to maintain clearance, up to Top Secret.
• Experience coordinating work across multiple subcontractors and government stakeholders.
• Familiarity with defense vehicle testing, training, and sustainment operations.
