Wire Harness Technician (Automotive / Electrical Systems)Location: Hayward, CAPay: $28 – $35/hour (based on experience) 5 days paid leaveSchedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays as neededContract: 6 months with strong potential for extensionAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Wire Harness Technician to join our Repair and Quality team, supporting automotive Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.In this hands-on role, you’ll ensure harness quality, reliability, and manufacturability for automotive and electric vehicle (EV) platforms. You’ll work directly with EDS design engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve electrical harness issues, perform rework, and maintain compliance with engineering and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and troubleshoot wire harness and electrical system issues on the production floorPerform safe, high-quality harness rework both on-vehicle and on-benchAccurately document repairs, rework, and corrective actionsCollaborate with EDS and manufacturing engineers to improve harness build quality and assembly processesConduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issuesTrain and mentor production team members on best practices in wire harness repairMaintain compliance with all safety, ESD, and quality proceduresPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in automotive electrical systems, wire harness assembly, or repairSkilled in harness rework, splicing, and connector replacement per IPC/WHMA-A-620 and USCAR-21 standardsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and rework instructionsProficient with crimping tools, wire handling, harness inspection, and diagnostic equipmentExperience using Capital, CATIA, or similar harness design/release toolsFamiliar with Jira or similar systems for issue tracking and RCA documentationKnowledge of ESD protocols and EV electrical safety proceduresExperience with RCCA documentation or quality management systems (QMS)Strong verbal and written communication skills; team-oriented and dependableProficiency in computer-based documentation and reporting toolsOEM or Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience preferredPhysical & Environmental RequirementsAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbsComfortable working at heights up to 20–25 feetRegular standing, bending, and movement during 8 hour shiftsMay be exposed to temperature variations, noise, and standard manufacturing conditionsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid U.S. driver’s licenseMinimum 3 years of OEM repair experience and/or formal automotive technician trainingWhy Join UsThis is an opportunity to be part of a high-impact automotive and EV program, where your technical expertise directly supports product innovation and quality.
