Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or nurse. Performs select clinical duties. Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records and filing. Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Provide patient instruction and education as directed by the physician or nurse, or refers when appropriate Perform phlebotomy and injections under nurse supervision MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Microsoft Office knowledge and computer skills required Ability to maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients and their representatives, managers, physicians, other clinic staff, outside agencies, and the public. Ability to effectively document patient vitals and medical information in a timely manner PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Cerner experience Athena experience REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL SKILLS: Integrity: A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty and the willingness to do the right thing. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED 1 Year of Experience Working in an Outpatient setting PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of Medical Assistant program or Associates Degree in Medical Sciences with emphasis in Anatomy REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: BLS credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
