We are recognized for our commitment to safety, exceptional customer service, and innovative building solutions.Position Summary:The Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed drawings and technical plans for commercial steel structures, envelope systems, and related components. This role ensures accuracy, code compliance, and constructability of all drafting deliverables to support fabrication, field installation, and permitting.Key Responsibilities:Produce accurate shop and fabrication drawings for metal building components, panels, trims, and structural steel systems.Interpret architectural and structural plans to generate detailed construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and estimators to ensure plans meet design intent and field requirements.Ensure compliance with company drafting standards and best practices.Identify and flag design inconsistencies, conflicts, or constructability issues.Revise drawings based on project changes, field feedback, or redlines.Maintain organized and up-to-date project files, revision logs, and CAD blocks.Assist in developing and updating standard details, templates, and material libraries.Participate in project kickoff and coordination meetings as needed.Communicate project status and deliver projects on timeOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:Associate’s degree or technical certification in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.2 years of experience in a drafting role within the construction or steel industry.Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); experience with Revit, SolidWorks, ACMs, or Tekla is a plus.Familiarity with metal building components, envelope systems, and construction terminology.Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Skills:Experience with insulated metal panels (IMP), ACM, and corrugated metal detailing.Understanding of field installation requirements and fabrication processes.Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or other construction management platforms.Work Environment:Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits or fabrication shop walkthroughs.Standard working hours with flexibility to meet project deadlines.Compensation and Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Bonus based on performanceHealth, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Career development opportunities and training.General Physical RequirementsThis position primarily involves sedentary work, including prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
