JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Accounting
Supervision Exercised: Staff Accountants/Accounting Clerks
Supervision Received: General Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Hotel or hospitality industry experience preferred.
Experience with accounting systems such as Aptech PVNG, PEP, OnQ PMS, or similar.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to lead, train, and motivate accounting team members.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
JOB DUTIES
Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
Supervise and review the work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Support month-end and year-end close processes for assigned entities.
Analyze financial data, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting.
Coordinate audit activities and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Collaborate with property and corporate leadership to support financial goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
