Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's receivables, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting overall financial operations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency with Quickbooks, and the ability to perform precise data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
Duties
- Process and monitor incoming payments, ensuring timely posting to customer accounts using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Prepare and send invoices, statements, and collection notices to clients or customers
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to receivables
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries related to receivables
- Maintain accurate records of transactions
- Support accounts payable functions as needed and assist with general ledger reconciliation
- Contribute to process improvements in billing, collections, and cash application procedures
Experience
- Proven experience in accounts receivable or general accounting roles.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
- Proficiency in data entry (10 key typing skills) and account reconciliation processes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation tasks
