What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-op/PACU OR RN position at HRH Hackensack Surgery Center LLC?
We are a busy surgical center in need of Pre-Op nurses, PACU nurses, OR nurses. MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH DAYS AND HOURS.
MUST BE BILINGUAL
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN performs thorough preoperative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and in order.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN takes and records vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN initiates IVs and ensures that patients are informed about the procedure.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN assesses patients’ post-operative condition.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN monitors vital signs.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN documents patient’s progress and all findings in chart.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN answers patient questions and ensures they are kept comfortable.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post-anesthesia period.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN monitors patients for condition changes and reports any changes to the physician.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN performs intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN opens sterile items correctly and checks instruments for completeness and function.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN displays expertise in scrubbing, gowning and gloving.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN monitors and maintains sterile field in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN displays good communication skills with circulator/surgeon.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN provides timely and effective room turnover.
- Pre Op RN/PACU/ OR RN properly handles and disposes of sharps.
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE AMBULATORY SURGICAL CENTER OR HOSPITAL SETTING EXPERIENCE
- Per Diem/ Full Time/ Possibility for Full time
- Aware of HIPAA laws
- General knowledge of medical documents
- General knowledge of sterile technique
