We’re hiring for field technicians on behalf of our client which is one of North America’s leading and most experienced sub-metering providers
The field technician is responsible for regulatory inspections, meter installations, and system troubleshooting on standard and intermediate-voltage systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with meter installation inspections and programming
- Perform low-voltage communications wiring (Ethernet, RS-485, RS-422, RS-232, dry contact pulse)
- Conduct regulatory inspections and perform meter work on systems up to 240V
- Assemble and configure metering equipment
- Identify and communicate deficiencies in meter installations
- Support stockroom operations, deliveries, and inventory counts
- Investigate and resolve communication and data acquisition issues
- Conduct annual PSC regulatory testing
- Complete field service reporting within 24 hours of work completion
- Perform meter exchanges on 120V and high-voltage systems up to 240V
- Configure cellular modems and serial communication boxes (DB9)
- Support customer meter investigations (suite and commercial)
- Perform repairs within technician scope where reasonable
- Coordinate on-site work with electricians, contractors, and superintendents
- Read and interpret single-line drawings and installation designs
• • Design and build communication networks (TCP/IP, RS-485 daisy chains, Qradios)
Qualifications:
- REQUIRED: plumber or electrician license
- REQUIRED: Valid Driver's license
- REQUIRED: Critical thinking and Troubleshooting skills
- REQUIRED: Organized and professional exceptional Customer Service Skills
- Hands-on experience testing and repairing electrical devices or electrical installations.
- Ability to use a voltmeter and basic hand tools.
- At least one year of experience in the field.
