Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Independently own and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Increase rigor, consistency, and visibility in financial reporting.
- Manage all general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Maintain and oversee cash-flow planning to ensure a strong liquidity structure.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as the company scales.
- Partner with operations on logistics, supply chain, inventory tracking, and vendor management.
- Provide support on HR processes including payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop scalable systems and processes.
- Evaluate and implement improvements to financial and operational workflows.
- Lead accounting activities in QuickBooks with strong daily proficiency.
- Identify system enhancements or additional tools as needed for continued growth.
- Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the CEO.
- Bring a builder’s mindset—proactively identifying opportunities, proposing solutions, and creating structure.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting professional.
- Strong, in-depth QuickBooks experience (required).
- Experience independently completing monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and cash-flow planning.
- Experience in a growth-stage or entrepreneurial environment strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Private Equity environments is a plus.
- Operational understanding of HR, benefits, logistics, supply chain, and vendor management preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build processes—not just maintain existing ones.
- Growth-oriented, proactive, and comfortable expanding responsibilities over time.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner across departments.
- Must reside in the greater Minneapolis area.
