Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes, materials handling, and safety protocols. Candidates with experience in order picking, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management systems will excel in this position. The Forklift Operator will play a vital role in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring the safe movement of goods across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of heavy equipment including forklifts, crane, clamp truck, pallet jack, and RF scanners to load and unload materials.
- Perform order picking and material handling tasks accurately using warehouse management systems.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Assist with inventory management by organizing stock and ensuring proper storage procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify mechanical issues and perform basic troubleshooting or report repairs needed.
- Support shipping & receiving operations by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and ensure timely order fulfillment.
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or materials handling is preferred.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or order pickers is essential.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety is required.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control processes is advantageous.
- Previous roles involving construction or logistics can provide relevant experience for this position.
- Candidates should possess a valid forklift certification or equivalent licensing where applicable.
