Primary Accountability

The Maintenance Technician will oversee the upkeep of the facilities. The Maintenance Technician will leverage their technical expertise, from plumbing to carpentry to electrical systems, to ensure the continued stability of the operations. They will be responsible for performing building inspections, stocking inventories, and scheduling repairs. In doing so, the Maintenance Technician will solve problems and facilitate excellent conditions for all who enter the space.

Major Duties

• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems for stability and quality.
• Build and execute maintenance budget plans and establish maintenance processes and procedures.
• Maintain plumbing, electrical, and carpentry equipment and ensure everything is in good working order, including making necessary repairs when it is not.
• Schedule routine repairs and inspections with outside vendors as needed.
• Perform tasks such as parts replacements, cleaning, landscaping, and more.
• Oversee all HVAC and plumbing functions.
• Address all known facility concerns and work to fix any issues.
• Performs additional duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications:

• HVAC or other relevant certification
• Proficient with plumbing and draining issues
• Deep knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency with electrical wiring
• Carpentry skills to address any facility structural issues
• Comprehensive command of maintenance procedures and techniques
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of lifting loads of 50 pounds or more
• Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Willingness to work outside of regular business hours when needed
• 10 years of related experience preferred, 5 years of related experience required
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, in a professional manner that supports the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of MPCA and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  
  

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach and use hands and fingers for extended periods of time.
• Performing physical activities which require considerable use of your arms and legs for moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and handing of materials.
• Ability to read computer screens, mail, e-mail and talk on the phone.
• Ability to unpack and move supplies up to thirty (50) pounds.
• Ability to drive an automobile and possess a valid driver’s license.
  
  

Work Environment:

• Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
• Interaction with internal and external customers.
• Work hours will be variable depending upon the scheduled activities at the office.
• Estimated work is approximately 30 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours per week.
• Job duties will be performed onsite, at the Jefferson City, MO location.
