Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to referral inquiries from providers, facilities, or other sources and conduct on-site clinical assessments.
- Meet with potential residents and families to explain the transfer process, admission experience, anticipated outcomes, and financial considerations.
- Identify resident-specific needs (e.g., equipment, staffing) and assist facility staff in securing necessary resources.
- Communicate admission, clinical, and financial details to facility staff, ensuring readiness for new resident admissions.
- Gather medical and financial documentation to complete the initial admission process, including backup documentation from referring hospitals when available.
- Facilitate resident placement by considering clinical requirements, bed availability, resident and family preferences, and geographic factors.
- Assist with completion of admission and pre-certification paperwork.
- Maintain strong relationships with referral sources; provide updates on services and support prompt responses to placement needs.
- Conduct facility tours and admission conferences for referral sources, potential residents, and their families.
- Collaborate with residents and families to develop strategies that promote person-centered care.
- Collect and report resident satisfaction surveys and feedback from hospitals and agencies; collaborate with the facility team to develop action plans for improvement.
- Effectively communicate the facility’s capabilities and services to the community and referral partners.
- Maintain accurate daily and monthly marketing reports.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director, Director of Admissions and facility team to develop and execute quarterly marketing plans.
- Stay informed about local market dynamics, including hospitals, managed care organizations, specialized services, and competitors.
- Conduct competitor visits as needed for up-to-date market analysis.
- Participate in marketing meetings and census calls to share insights and support census development.
- Utilize sales tools and practices to track and evaluate marketing efforts.
- Stay informed about federal and state regulations, reimbursement guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance), and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Support the managed care referral process.
- Uphold the facility’s commitment to delivering “5-Star” service and driving continuous quality improvement.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Report suspected policy violations or compliance concerns to appropriate leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing residents for appropriate placement.
- Experience in time/territory and key account management preferred.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Proven ability to use the telephone as an effective sales and communication tool.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn specialized applications.
- Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement programs is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Resourcefulness in resolving potential admission challenges and coordinating necessary staff training or equipment.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Reliable transportation to travel to hospitals, agencies, and community events.
- Must maintain insurance and upkeep of personal vehicle used for job-related travel.
- Valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs or unsafe driving violations).
- Must be willing to attend facility-related events both on and off-site.
Licensing and Background Requirements:
- Current, valid, and unencumbered North Carolina LPN or RN license.
